The lower back ache is becoming a very common problem now a days even in the youngsters due to improper lifestyle and over work. There is compression on the spinal cord due to dislocation of the disc between vertebra which causes the pain and disability some time.

The treatment options include Pain killers along with vitamin B complex and neurotransmitter blockers. Complete bed rest is recommended until the subsidence of the inflammation. Lumbosacral support is also very helpful along with physiotherapy. If the above management fails to work and there is progression of the disease and the pain develops neurological deficits like loss of sensation and loss of power and tone then surgery is indicated

Not all cases of intervertebral disc pathology needs surgery. Without seeing MRI and examining you clinically, it is hard to tell whether you need surgery for disc or not. If the MRI shows significant nerve root compression or prolapsed disc or spinal canal stenosis correlating with your symptoms, then you might need a surgical decompression.

I see that there is some nerve root compression because of the disc prolapse on left side, which is why you should be experiencing pain on left side.

Try to avoid lifting weights, avoid leaning forward, avoid driving and sitting for long time. Always sleep on hard surface. You can take pillows beneath your knees while sleeping. Continue your medications as per your doctor's advise. If possible a course of interferential therapy with intermittent pelvic traction (Physiotherapy) can be tried. This might help you in decreasing the pain. Even after following these advises for 2-3 weeks, if pain still persists, then consult neuro-surgeon regarding surgical decompression.

I understand you have back pain . These symptoms are part of lumbar disc degeneration with PIVD where the nerves get compressed by the protruded disc..
There are several treatment modalities with medicines, physiotherapy and with injections in the back called epidural injections and root/facet blocks.
If you dont get better with these treatment ,I suggest you undergo surgery, by which the nerves are decompressed by removing the protruded disc (discectomy), which would significantly improve your symptoms
