Having Noticed Cyst On Thigh That Has Increased In Size
I have a cyst on my thigh that has increased in size to the size of a grape. I am planning to schedule surgery to remove it. My dermatologist referred me to a plastic surgeon. Any idea (ballpark) what the overall cost of the removal could be if I went with a doctor who would perform this vs. a plastic surgeon and what kind of scar I can expect?

You have a cyst on your thigh. it is almost the size of a grape. It is good to know that you have planned removal of the cyst. The cost will depend on the type of cyst. It will also depend on the size and location. Removal of a cyst that’s enlarging or causing problems that are affecting your daily activities will be covered by insurance. If the lesion is not causing any problem but the removal is considered for cosmetic reasons than the insurance company may not cover it.
You can check with your insurance company as to what documents you will need to provide so that your surgery may be covered by insurance. If you go for plastic surgery than you are likely not to get any scar post surgery. It may take some time to recover. You may have to go for follow up sessions depending on the recovery.
