Having Pain During Intercourse, Feels Like Stabbed. What Could Be The Reason?

My partner and I have been sexually active and just recently I have been feeling pain during intercourse, normally when we are doing it doggie style or with my legs on his shoulders. I don't feel it when I am on top or when in normal missionary. It feels like I am being stabbed. Its a deep inside pain. What could be the cause?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

The causes can be numerous and as you have complained of a deep-seated pain it is best to conduct a speculum examination and a transvaginal ultrasound scan for now.

Causes include cysts, abnormalities in the uterus, infections, etc. Please schedule an appointment with your doctor at the earliest, and abstain from all forms of sexual contact till your doctor deems it safe.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
