Having Pain In The Top And Bottom Of The Ankle. Pain While Turning The Feet And Tingling Of The Toes. Should I Be Worried?

I stepped off of a curb wrong and went down hard on my ankle. I think I just twisted it because I can walk on it and it doesn't hurt much. Ay pain comes from turning it a certain way. The pain is on the inside across the top and bottom. My concern is now my toes on the foot feel like they are tingling. Sold I be worried?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain that you feel in the ankle is likely to be due to tendonitis in the area. This is an inflammatory pain and can be relieved with mild pain killers. The nerve related symptoms will also improve once the inflammation subsides.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
As you are able to walk normally, a serious bony injury / fracture can be ruled out.
The description suggests that might have injured the ligaments around the ankle joint which typically produces pain when they become stretched during particular movements.
The tingling sensation could be due to neuropraxia (concussion of nerves) which usually resolves spontaneously over a period of time.
I suggest you to consult an orthosurgeon and follow his advice accordingly.
Hope this helps
