Having Pain In Upper Chest. Suffering From Achilles Tendonitis. Taking Robaxicet. What To Do?

My wife has had a fairly severe pain for the past 24 hours in her upper right chest. She has not done any exercise
or anything physical that could have caused it. At the moment she is suffering from achilles tendonitis for the past week, but I do not think there is any connection. She has taken a robaxicet about half an hour ago, without any relief.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are different possible causes for chest pain. If the pain is severe ,it may be best to have her assessed to rule out heart or serious lung related cause.

Chest pain can occur due to problems related to any structure of the chest from the skin inwards.

Muscles and soft tissue- any inflammation or trauma to the muscle can result in pain but this would usually be worse with movement of the particular muscle

Bones- costochondritis is inflammation of the area where the sternum meets the ribs.
IT can cause severe pain. In this condition there is pain when the person presses on the central chest.

Heart pain can also cause chest pain

Lung- infections of the lungs, blockage of a blood vessel (pulmonary embolism), trauma are some of the causes of chest pain related to the lungs.

As mentioned earlier, in light of the fact that the pain is severe she should be assessed by her doctor or the ER.

I hope this helps
