Having Pain While Swallowing After Taking Clindamycin After Dental Extraction. Is It Due To Its Side Effects?

hello, yes I am typing in searches for "pain on swallowing"..it is not as much "pain" as almost inability to swallow due to sensation of a basketball-sized lump in throat--this is trying to drink liquids or swallow food.
it feels as if, if my esophagus area were circumference of a toilet paper roll, the substance blocking my swallowing is circ. of a baseball! I have JUST been on antibiotic due to dental extraction for 5 days. Started antibitoics on THURSDAY and it it now TUESDAY, so been on it 5--6 days now:CLINDAMYCIN 150 mg. tabs 3 times a day.
would that antibiotic be to blame for this painful trouble?

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, its very unlikely that these antibiotics are causing these symptoms. Just complete the course of antibiotics. Its better to start some proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole or pantoprazole.
Instead of all thee efforts your symptoms are not responding , you may have to consult ENT surgeon for opinion and treatment.
