Having Period For 5 Weeks. Prescribed Thyroid Test, Taking Yasmini Tablet. What Could Be The Cause Of This?

tat I've had my period for 5 weeks and its not stopping. Dr. gv me a tblt named yasmini .... for 21 days ... n also prescribed thyroid test ... n she said tat there is no need of sonography because now a days this problem hs bcm common in girls...What could cause this? and whether this helpful to cure such type of problem

You should have your coagulation and bleeding profile done.
Sometimes in young girls this type of abnormal bleeding is seen, due to imbalance of hormones.
If your investigations and pelvic sonogram are normal, you can take oral contraceptives for 2 - 3 months to regulate your cycles.
