Having Regular Period. Scan Shows Endometrial Thickness. Taking Regestrone. Want Second Opinion
i am 43year old lady. my periods were very regular. but last month i got it twice. i consulted a gynae doctor and she suggested scan . i done it and my endometrial thickness is 14mm they told and now i an on regestrone 5mg twice a day for 21 days what is your 2nd opinion
The ultrasound would just show the increased thickness of endometrium.
But the reason behind increased thickness can be many.
Considering the fact that you had periods twice, the endometrial thickness you have is quite abnormal.
Though it the first month you had the increased menstrual frequency so it should not be a serious cause.
But its always better to evaluate any abnormal bleeding at your age by an endometrial biopsy. this helps in ruling out cancerous causes of abnormal bleeding.

Having Regular Period. Scan Shows Endometrial Thickness. Taking Regestrone. Want Second Opinion
Hello there. If your biopsy is normal or shows simple endometrial hyperplasia alone, then use of progesterone like meprate or regesterone is justified. So I suggest you should get an endometrial biopsy just to be sure that the bleeding is not due to cancer. take care.
