Having Small Rashes On Lower Calf And Groin Area. Are They Shingles And Will They Spread?
I think my wife has shingels ,she has a small rash about the size of a dime but it does look like it has pus in it ,it is on her lower calf, and a different type of rash in her groin area .and is it contagious and how bad we have grandkids who we take care often. Do I need to take her to the doctors right now
I can understand your concern for mall rashes on lower calf and groin area. It is practically impossible to guide you exactly whether or not these are shingels without a picture or close examination.
You must see a doctor and preferably a dermatologist to rule out the same in term so herpes zoster. For the time being period you to apply plain antibacterial cream such as fusidic acid or mupirocin (latest is retapamulin) and to take pain killer tablet by mouth for reducing the intensity of pain and redness. The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications.
Take care.
