Having Twitches Around The Corner Of Mouth. How Long Will It Last?

I ve had twitches right around the corner of my mouth where I can actually see my skin pulsing for about 4 days now. How long can these twitches or tics last? I ve been suffering a cold and cough and didn t know if this might be the reason I have this. Can you please advise me if I have anything to worry about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to:
1. Poor neuromuscular co-ordination.
2. Any fluctuation in blood pressure levels
3. Altered blood sugar levels
4. Inadequate hydration & nutrition status.
5. Deficiency of certain nutrients like Iron, Vitamin B 12, Calcium, Magnesium, etc.
Investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood pressure and blood sugar levels will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.
A CT scan of brain may also be needed.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained with nervigenic agents (like Vit B6, B12, Folic acid) as well as multivitamin & mineral supplementation needs to be added in the diet.

If symptoms still persist, kindly consult a Neurologist for a proper clinical examination.

Wishing a good health.
Take care.
