Hazy Infiltrates In Upper Lobe, Heart Not Enlarge, Pleural Calcification In Hemi Thorax.. Meaning?

Good day i want to ask this hazy infiltrates are seen in left upper lobe.heart in not enlarge. Pleural calcification is noted in left hemithorax.left costopherenic sulcus is blunted diaphram.sulci and bony thorax are intact..impression:ptb teft upper lube,minimal pleural effusion thikening.left pleural plaque,left ....what does really mean tnx metzel

Thanks for writing to HCM

Your report suggests that

1.There is haziness in left upper lobe.It may be due to tuberculosis.It may also be due to pneumonia, so antibiotic trial should be given first.

2.Heart size is normal.

3.There is pleural calcification in left hemithorax.It may be due to many reasons like sequel of infection,pneumoconiosis etc.

4.Left CP angle is blunted.It may be due to mild pleural effusion.
5.Other findings are normal.
