Head Injury, Seizures, Bleeding, Nausea. What Does Craniotomy For A Cavernous Malformation Resection Mean?
Hello there, I hit the back of my head falling backward in the bathroom, back of head hiring first. I'm 7 weeks post right temporal craniotomy for a cavernous malformation resection, for intractable seizures and continuous bleeds from the malformation. Amygdala removed and a significant portion of my hyppocampus. My head hurst quite a bit....not nauseous just feeling uneasy and obviously my whole head is throbbing.?whats your advise
Hi and thanks for the query, Craniotomy means that the skull shall be opened to get access to the brain. There is an area in the brain called the carvenous sinus. This simply means that there is a malformation at this area that prediposes to bleeding. this malformation shall then be removed and the skull closed. this is generally not a very heavy intervention, and you really need not be too stressed. Kind regards
