Head Injury, Small Lump Behind Head, Swelling, Pain On Touching. Cause Of Worry?

Hi, my mother fell yesterday and bumped her head on the concrete. She has a small lump on the back of the head. It s a bit hard, but the swelling has gone down much from yesterday. She says it still hurts to touch, but she feels much better than yesterday. She s still walking/seeing properly after the fall yesterday and no other injuries except minor bruises from the fall and that bump.

Hello thanks for the query,
lump on scalp occurs after injury due to collection of blood. In other words called as hematoma.
There is nothing to worry, slowly this will resolve on its own.
Dont try to puncture it.

Hello,

If she is doing fine with no symptoms then she should be fine.Do keep watch on on symptoms like dizziness, imbalance, headache, slurred speech, sleepiness, unable to coordinate things etc. If there are any of these symptoms or suspicious activity do see doctor immediately.
