Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 12 month old fell and hit her head a few hours ago. She played fine and energetically for an hour after that so I put her to bed. She threw up in her sleep and did not wake up durring it. I gave her a bath immediatly and she threw up again a few minutes after. She is currently awake but very drowsy. Could this be a concusion?
You have not mentioned whether she fell from a height or while she was walking.
When a child has fall from a height there are a few danger signs one has to monitor :
1) abnormal behaviour
2) multiple vomits
3) bleed from ear and nose
4)convulsion
Since your child has started vomiting multiple times she is getting dehydrated and hence drowsy.if the impact of the head injury was not from a height or forceful there are chances that these vomits could be due to viral gastritis.
However I would suggest that you get her examined by her doctor to rule out possibility of head injury.
