Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
International Headache society has some how removed the entity called ice pick headache. However your symtoms still fit into cluster headache, which can be treated. Valproates are good drugs for treating cluster headaches. In my clinic many patients have responded well with this drug. Some of them also responded to Amitryptilline.
You can discuss these two drugs with your physician who can advice you regarding the medications. Being medical prescriptions, you need to have it written from your treating doctor to procure the medications.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
