International Headache society has some how removed the entity called ice pick headache. However your symtoms still fit into cluster headache, which can be treated. Valproates are good drugs for treating cluster headaches. In my clinic many patients have responded well with this drug. Some of them also responded to Amitryptilline. You can discuss these two drugs with your physician who can advice you regarding the medications.
