Heard Crack Like Sound Around Adams Apple While Drinking, Hurts To Swallow, Slightly Inflamed, Tender. Why ?

Hi,
How it happened I was sitting at home drinking some tea and as I was gulping the last bit in the cup down when, I felt the motion of my adams apple in the usual fashion move down the up, but on the upward motion I heard internally in my neck and felt a crack / snap like sensation like an elastic band breaking around my adams apple. Now when I swallow it hurts.

use short course of steroids antibiotics antacids
and analgesic sos
