i have an injury to the neck caused the hyiod bone to break and my epiglottis to shift to left while swallowing .. i choke with food all the time, but i did remove the entire hyoid and now want to remove the epiglottis because i had to put an PEG TUBE to feed
hyoidoepiglittopexy can be done that means hyoid is fixed to epiglottis and hyoid can also be fixed with small plates but needs a multidisciplinary approach from plastic surgeon , ENT surgeon and orthopaedic surgeon . if u have more difficulty only get operated if u can tolerate better leave it
