Heart Beats Rapidly While Sitting Or Getting Up, Stretching Arms, High BP, Very Bad Chain Smoker, Quitted.
Every time I get up or sit down my heart beats rapidly, even when I stretch my arms or do the slightest things. I use to be a very bad chain smoker I would smoke cigarettes all day long for about 7 years I am 25 years old should I be feeling this way? I also have high blood pressure and I m a fit 190 pound male and I haven t been smoking cigarrettes for about a few months, is my heart trying to get back to normal??
Although you are very young, you have high blood pressure and you were a chain smoker for many years. Since both factors increase the risk of ischaemic heart disease, I feel that your present symptoms of palpitations with the slightest exercise should be thoroughly evaluated. This is not to alarm you, but just to ensure that if there are any issues, they are identified early and adequately treated. Please consult a doctor and get an electrocardiogram done. Your doctor may also suggest an exercise tolerance test. Please do not resume smoking and try to keep your blood pressure under control as far as possible.
Hope this helps you. Best wishes.
