Hi RVAJJALA,
I apologize for delay in replying.
Was it plain Internal Cardiac Defibrillator(AICD) or a combo device where biventricular pacing is combined with AICD? Your ejection fraction is low 28-30%. Undoubtedly, if your EKG had LBBB a combo device would have been best but for every patient with this EF, AICD is definitely indicated. It should be put after wound heals and device would have been cleaned & disinfected. I agree with you that quality of life is not going to be very good. With help of your doctor you can draw a schedule of drugs and diet. Also, walk slowly never be in hurry to too many things together. These simple techniques will go long way to help you. Incidentally where was this AICD given? I hope by now they would have re implanted the device. Please tell the details of your story.
