Heart Rate Is Fast. Feel Like A Skip Beat. When Doing Things Busily Increased Heart Rate. Problem?

Not sure if I should consult a doctor. My resting heart rate is anywhere from 85/96 while sitting. upon waking it is normally in the 70's. Is it normal to feel my heart beating and sometimes like it skips a beat when i get up fast or am busy cleaning the house etc. when this happens and i check my heart rate it is normally between 110-130, which i thought to be normal for moving around and doing things.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Well the best way to go about this is to get an ECG done, from that we can find out exactly what kind of arrhythmia you have and based on those results we can treat you. Also a heart rate of 110-130 is on the high side.
So get an appointment with your doctor or go to your local hospital as soon as possible.
I hope this answered your question.

Psychiatrist Dr. Ashish Mittal's  Response
Hello,
welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Skipped heart beat or premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) are among the most common arrhythmia and occur in people with and without heart disease. In some people, it can be related to stress/anxiety, too much caffeine or nicotine, or too much exercise. But sometimes, skipped heart beat or premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) can be caused by heart disease or electrolyte imbalance.

It is better to meet psychiatrist and cardiologist to rule out above causes of your suffering. Till that time minimize caffeine (tea, coffee and cold drinks) and nicotine (smoking/tobacco) intake.

Wish you all the best.

Regards,
Dr Ashish Kumar Mittal
