Heavier And Lengthier Periods After Tubal Ligation, Missed Period For The Month, Intense Abdominal Cramping. Early Stages Of Menopause?

i had a tubal ligation about 1 year ago. after the procedure my periods were heavier and lasted longer that normal. last night had severe cramping/abdomial pain that woke me up out of a dead sleep and lasted about 1hour. i have not had my period at all this month. last cycle was the first week in december. not sure if i am going thru the begining stages of menapouse, i am 41 yrs.old. should i be concerned?

I have tried to understand your query to my best

Tubal Ligation is type of permanent sterilization in which both Fallopian tubes are cut or blocked to permanently prevent pregnancy. .This disrupts the movement of the egg to the uterus for fertilization and blocks sperm from traveling up the Fallopian tubes to the egg.
Tubal Ligation doesn't affect your menstrual cycle.

As a woman approaches 40s, It is natural that menstrual periods may become longer or shorter, heavier or lighter, and more or less frequent, until eventually by age 51 to 55 -the ovaries stop producing eggs, and you have no more periods.

If excessive bleeding is observed, which seems to be unusual longer & heavier in your case in comparison to your previous cycles, my advice is to consult a gynecologist for further evaluation. for sever Menstrual cramps meanwhile, You can antispasmodics -Meftalspas twice a day .
