I have a problem with my heels. As soon as I put my foot on the floor, my heels start paining excruciatingly making it impossible to stand or walk for sometime till I get a balance on myself. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having Calcanium spur or Bursitis giving rise to this problem.
Go for x-ray heel and find out the cause.
Consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined.
Sometimes local injection of steroid will give good relief.
Meanwhile put some cushion under the heel in shoes.
Ok and take care.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. Saurabh Gupta's  Response
Hello and Welcome to HCM,
Thanks for writing to us.
From your symptoms, it seems that you are suffering from plantar fasciitis. It happens due to inflammation of the plantar fascia.
A short term rest and oral anti inflammatory drugs are required to take care of the inflammation.
Shoe inserts are often the key to successful treatment of plantar fasciitis. The shoe inserts often permit patients to continue their routine activities.
If the pain does not resolve, an injection of cortisone can decrease the inflammation of plantar fasciitis.
You may need few physiotherapy sessions along with prescription anti inflammatory drugs after getting yourself examined from an Orthopedician
Hope this helps you.
Wishing you good health...
Regards.
Dr Saurabh Gupta
