Hello Dr. Rynne! It's Very Early Morning Here In Denver,

Hello Dr. Rynne! it's very early morning here in Denver, Colorado....& I am prepping for a road trip to Boise, Idaho on Thursday....(moving there so it's a STRESSFUL time for hubby & I to make such a big move!) Anyway.....I ended up with Shingles (diagnosed on Sept. 9th & began taking Valacyclovir HCL - 1 Gram caplets for 7 days.....3 per day. But since I am going to be travelling thru' the open range areas of Wyoming & Utah (& not really in any cities until arrival in Boise) I am concerned about having further outbreaks.....the dermatologist I saw thinks one week's course is enough.....do you know if that's standard? I think I had a pretty mild case (THANK YOU LORD FOR THAT!!! :) but I'm also going to be staying a few days with a friend who has bladder cancer & is in the middle of chemo.....so I worry about getting others sick with this nasty virus.....damn viruses & bacteria.....I think they're gonna get us all in the end!! :( Well....I'll shut up & let you answer now.....Hope you're having a wonderful night! I have had 2 brain aneurysms hemorrhage between March of 1990 & January of 2006.....so I am VERY GRATEFUL to the gifted & compassionate medical professionals who cared for me & saved my life both times!!
