Hello,
In 2010 I had gastric lap band surgery.
In Nov. 2012 I had an abdominoplasty plus an umbilical hernia repair. Since this procedure, at intermittent times, I have had excrutiating upper and mid abdominal wind type pains. I have been told my intestines are in spasms. 4 times I have attended hospital, once admitted, and and on two occasions given morphine for the agonising pain.
I last attended hospital on Friday 27th May with the worst pain I have yet experienced. I was told that all my pathology (as has happened in the past) is perfectly fine, no pancreatitis, or liver concerns. No inflammation markers etc.
A CT Scan from last year has proven there is no band "slippage". It did indicate that I have a small hernia, and that there are dots on the bowel which are supposedly diverticuli? Most of the doctors I see aren't even concerned with this finding.
My xray from my Friday's Emergency hospital visit indicates that I have prominent amount of gas in small and large bowel. The comment from the Radiographer indicates "OVERALL THE BOWEL GAS PATTERN IN NON SPECIFIC, HOWEVER AN EARLY OR INCOMPLETE OBSTRUCTION REQUIRES CONSIDERATION AND FOLLOW-UP FILMS MAY BE HELPFUL.
What should I do? The gas took 24 hours to leave my system, and I am gradually forming a list of foods I can no longer eat, due to these life interupting painful episodes.
