Hello. My Son Has A Cerebroperitoneal Shunt Which Was Replaced
Hello. My son has a cerebroperitoneal shunt which was replaced 3 years ago because the tubing had separated near his collarbone. He has been well since then until he has recently has a sinus infection that has persisted despite a course of amoxicillin. He is due to go backpacking in south east Asia in 7 days time. Do you think the sinus infection is related to his shunt function? He has had no unusual headaches recently except he had sharp pain behind his eye whilst in an airplane on it's descent twice during a family holiday 10 days ago.
