Hello!. So I Am A 16 Year Old Indian Girl

Hello!. So I am a 16 year old Indian girl and my tonsils have been troubling me since I was 5 years old. Initially, my family doctor advised me not to remove the tonsils in spite of repeated occurence several times a month . She told me they would settle down by the time I'm 12 years old, but now I am 16 years old(will turn 17 this November ) recently I had a very bad tonsil infection episode which lasted almost a month and I was given heavy antibiotics, so finally my parents decided to take me to an ENT . She told me, i require tonsillectomy . wee scheduled the surgery one month from now. I'm not scared for the surgery or post recovery pain though I have heard it can be quite painful especially at my age . Well my major concern is, I read a lot of articles and asked few of my friends who have been through this surgery about weight gain after the recovery process and well all of my friends have gained a lot inspite of exercising or diet control, also 90% of the net articles should the same thing. I have a tendency to gain weight really easily and i need to really control and exercise to keep the weight gain off. I was worried if this surgery would cause more weight gain and i would cross the normal weight range (I'm 5'1 and 125.4lbs(57kgs) and as I mentioned above 16 years 10 months old.) Please help me out . Thank you.
