Hematoma Removed, Total Hip Replacement Done. Biopsy Done, Still Reoccurring. Is This Normal?

Monday I had an old hematoma removed from my right hip that had a THR in 2005. It apparently developed in 2009 and was unknowingly & partially resolved (but never diagnosed) by biopsy. It grew again in 2012 and my original surgeon referred me to expert at Cedars Sinai. He resolved the "old hematoma". Is this a usual development?

Hello

Hematoma collection can be usual development in patients of joint replacement.
Due to foreign body reaction there can be serous fluid production which leads to collection.
You need to watch for any infection in collection .
Investigation like bone scan may help to know severity of problem
