Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hey I had risky exposure to a girl in Thailand who performed felatio and I came. I had diarrhea about 5 days later and a sore throat. About two weeks later I developed a red rash in patches that came up after not shaving for a week but went away usually after one to two days after I shaved. I had a positive test for chlamydia at about ten days after exposure and took two tablets to eradicate this but this didn't clear it up. I went back and got a prescription for doxycycline and took one week and then another 3 week course. Am onto my seventh day of a new antibiotic called moxifloxacin Hydrochloride and have 3 to go. My main concern is that this rash is not going away and now seems to be spreading to my scalp and neck / chest and is quite itchy and very dry. My tongue is white on top also. I got tested for syphilis, HIV and the Hepatitis's at 7 / 7 and a half weeks after exposure which all came back negative. Could I still be HIV positive as I have heard that most tests are conclusive after 6 to 8 weeks and the earliest at 4 ? Could this be the antibiotics causing the rash ( although it started on my face before starting my first course ) or can you have a chlamydia infection of the brain etc that might be causing these symptoms now it is being treated with antibiotics ?!
