Hi, I Had A Sebaceous Cyst Removed From My Back

Hi, I had a sebaceous cyst removed from my back about 5 weeks ago. Two stitches were put in the wound. I had the stitches out after a week, and after a day or so the wound started exudate pus/blood. I went to a walk-in centre (I'm in the UK) and the nurse packed the hole with a piece of material or something which she said would turn to a gel. This would give the wound chance to heal and eventually less if the material wouo2d be needed to pack the wound. My husband has been carrying out this procedure for me each day but he says it does not look any different and is still packing with the same amount of material. The wound bleeds every time the material is removed. Can you give me any advice please on this matter?
