Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! I have an infection that at first thought to be shingles. Upon looking further I believe it to be Cutaneous larva migrans (ancyclostoma braziliense) creeping infection. It started about a month ago on palm of my left palm and creeped around my wrist like someone with a red ball point pen scribbling on my hand and then into center of my left hand and up the left index finger, and then on my right hand ring finger at the middle joint and just 10 days ago on my right shin below right knee. I was in Hungary and got a mis-diagnosis of "eczema and given a cream and antihistamine. I am back in USA last couple of days. Do I need a dermatologist biopsy to confirm?? And the best anti-parasitic?
