Hi,
I was born with HSV-2 and have had outbreaks since I was very young. They have become very manageable and I only get them once every year or even two years. I have never passed it on to a partner until now. Previously, I have had sex with and without condoms but never during an outbreak. I don't know much about how it gets passed on. We only had sex once, with a condom and it was for 10mins, he said the condom slipped off a little bit and my last outbreak had been 3 months prior to this. He went to get a blood test 4 days after because he was paranoid and the doctor said anti-bodies showed up but these typically only show up 6-8 weeks after exposure. So he did a further test and he was tested positive for HSV-2. Now i know its entirely possible he got it from me. But it seems too quick for antibodies to show and not likely because we had sex for only 10mins and with a condom. My question is, is it at all possibly for antibodies to show in such a short period of time? How likely is it that I am the one that gave him herpes? I have a gut feeling that i didnt give him herpes because the fact that none of my previous partners have gotten it from me (and we had sex multiple times with and without condoms). So this seems highly unlikely or this instance just proves the low odds. But i do have a feeling he had this before we had sex and may have gotten it from a previous partner who did not know they had it. What do you think the chances i'm the one who gave him herpes are? Thanks for reading!
