Hi, I was supposed to get surgery next week and had a pre admissions non fasting blood test done yesterday, I did drink a chocolate milk on the way ther and ice cream and milk at 5am prior to test which was at 2pm the same day. My doctor said my blood sugar came back at 345, I have an embilical hernia and although have been previously athletic and active going to the gym at least 4-5 time per week I stopped working out about 2 months ago and have been laying aroun doing nothing, I stay up late, don't get enough sleep and eat a lot of junk I didn't eat before, I was told that they couldn't proceed with the scheduled surgery next week because of my sugar levels, any advice or instructions on how to lower it and does this sound like something permanent or just bad choices in past couple of month that can be fixed?
