Hi My 2 year old son got chickenpox 3 days ago and today a kidney bean size swelling being the right ear which is painful to touch appeared. In addition the swelling has pushed the ear out. The GP says that this probably just swollen lymph nodes due to chicken pox. But I'm concerned that it may be mastoiditis, and that without prompt treatment it can progress to something more serious.
Do you think we should get a second opinion?
