Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, two years ago I got the flu vaccine and a week or so later I started to have palpitations quite severely. I had never had heart problems before and on getting it investigated, they said the irregular rhythm was mostly benign. I had the occasional short runs of atrial fibrillation, which have not been noticed lately on my last ECG and I feel I am so much better with palpitations now. I am a registered Nurse and am now wondering should I have another flu shot? I have to promote getting vaccinated in my job, but I'm not sure if this was a side effect I had from the vaccination which I do not want to repeat.( I am 48 years old and do not have other health complaints apart from occasional mild asthma symptoms in cold weather.)
