Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
High BP, Muscular Degeneration, 3 Stent Placements In My Coronary Arteries. What Can I Expect From This Condition?
I have had high blood pressure for about 15 years. I have had 3 stent placements in my coronary arteries. I still have more blockages. I take a lot of medication, 3 blood pressure pills . My cardiologist changed one of my blood pressure pills 3 weeks ago. Now my blood pressure averages 145/92. I think this is too high. I called my cardiologist last week and told the receptionist, she said she would tell the doc. I called again, and again she said she would tell the doc. I haven t heard from the doc. What can I expect from this blood pressure average if I do nothing? Also my eyes are getting very weak. I can barely see to type these questions and answers. I have early mascular degeneration .
I think your cardiologist knows best your condition after those 3 stent placements in your coronary arteries. Since he has changed your medication lately and taken your blood pressure, just be patient and let the medication takes time to work on you. Please remember that being excited and worrying too much can also increase your blood pressure. As it is your BP is on the high side, so stop worrying. By calling up the nurse to relate your condition to your doc is not a good solution. If you are worried, just make an appointment and see your doctor again. If you are below 40, that reading of l45/92 is a bit too high especially the diastolic(below). Try to take care of your diet which I am sure your doc should have advised you espcially cutting down on fatty meat and drink more orange or lemon juice (if you dont have uric acid problem),these juices may help in thinning the blood which should be good for you. Remember also to do light exercises everyday. If you are a Christian, just pray to God and have faith in HIM and leave everything in His hands. Have peace in your mind and your blood pressure will definitely improve.May God Bless you and keep you well, I will pray for you too.
