The figure 167 stands for systolic blood pressure which should be less than 140 mm of Hg and the bottom figure 97 is diastolic blood pressure which should be around 80 to 85 mm of Hg for his age group. He needs life style modifications like salt restricted diet avoiding salted pickles ,biscuits ,salted snacks etc ,intake of plenty of fruits if not a diabetic ,regular exercise like walking for 45 minutes ,5 days a week along with medications . Regular blood pressure checks ups is advised .Uncontrolled blood pressures will lead to heart, eye and kidney failures in the long run.
