High Fever. On Paracetamol And Meftal. Another Dose Of Meftal Advisable?
My 14 year old daughter is having high temperature for the past two days. She is being given paracetamol 500mg every 6th hourly. In addition one tablet meftal 250 mg was also suggested once a day instead of paracetamol. She was given one tab last night about 8 hours ago. The temperature has risen now to almost 102 degrees. Is it okay to repeat the dosage of meftal now?

It is safe to repeat the dose of meftal-250.
Cold water sponging will be helpful to reduce temp.
After giving it 2 days, still there is a fever than go for certain investigations like
CBC,qbc,urine,sgpt,s.bilirubin,typhidot and start treatment accordingly under guidance of your treating doctor.
Take care for proper hydration.Give her more liquids and simple diet.
Keep in touch with your doctor.
