High Fever And White Pus In Throat. History Of Stray Dog Bite And Taking Penicillin The Next Day. Chances Of Rabies?

My daughter was bite by a dog three weeks ago. I took her to the emergency room they cleaned the wound and sent her in her way. The cop that came went to the place she got bit and they showed proff that the dog had its rabbies shot. Since then she has had a high fever and white puss in her throat I took her back to the Er and they ran tests and said they could find nothing. I took her to see her regular doctor the next day. She gave her penicillin and called the health department and they lied and told her that the dog that bit my daughter was a stray. That is a lie I called the cop that came to the emergency room and they said they passed the info to a deferent cop and that can't find a up date on anything. I'm worried my daughter has rabbies or a bad infection from the dog bite it seems the cops and the people that owned the dog are not doing there job.

Hello
Thanks for posting your query
Though Fever may be throat infection which is not a feature of rabies BUT there is risk of rabies for your daughter hence get vaccinated without delay.
You have to continue rabies vaccination till full course is complete.
They should be given total 5 injections of anti-rabies vaccine on day 0,3,7,14 and 30 days
In addition to that I also recommend to get vaccine against Tetanus if there was open wound.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
