High Fever, Fluctuating For Few Days, Cough, Head Pressure, Tiredness, Voice Loss. Treatment?
Hello I actually have a few questions. My boyfriend is 28 and has been sick since wednesday. It is now Monday and hes had an on and off fever , in the beginning the fever was 103 and now is going from 101 to 98 back and forth the past days. He has had a horrible cough , head pressure, and has been weak tired and is losing his voice. What is wrong with him?
HI. Just a few questions and comments on your partner's condition. Is there any odynophagia or painful swallowing? Is the cough productive with phlegm, especially greeish color? This may be an acute respiratory infection. There me an affectation on his larynx or voice box that is why he is having hoarseness of his voice. I suggest that you give paracetamol 500mg 1 tablet every 4 hours as needed. An antibiotic like amoxicillin 500mg 1 tablet three times a day or coamoxiclav 625mg 1 tablet twice a day may be given. Just make sure that he has no known allergy to either drug. You may also offer him any antiseptic gargle. I would love to hear from you for any follow-up question or update on his condition.
