High Triglyceride Level. Quit Drinking. Affect Levels?

I have recently quit drinking. I was drinking at least a .75 of vodka a day. I was pretty functional(in my mind)now I see things getting more clear however. None the less, my triglycerides are over 900. Yes I realize under 150 is acceptable but how long will it take to just see by quitting booze will this affect my numbers. Thanks.

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

14 hours of fasting will bring down the triglyceride to your usual levels.
If it is still elevated, you need advice on Diet and Exercise.

The only sure way to keep it controlled in the long term is to avoid alcohol – IMMEDIATELY, COMPLETELY AND PERMANENTLY – to protect your heart, liver, pancreas...

If these life style changes do not control, you will need Drugs.
See your Internist / keep seeing till normalised.

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
