Hip Pain Due To Gap Between Back Bone. Wore Belt, Leg Pain Present. Remedy?
Dear sir my mom is suffering from hip pain and we consulted Doctor he said that there is the gap between her back bone and he gave belt to make bones tight . But now she is suffering from leg pain even she wears the belt around hip. Please clarify me what is her problem and is it serious if there is gap between the back bone.
I am so sorry to hear about what your mother is experiencing.
From the description of symptoms, it could be a discal hernia. here the cushion that separates two vertebrae pushes further into the spinal canal compressing the cord and nerves. This leads to pain that generally travels down the leg of the affected nerves. Treatment is often started with pain medications and supportive measures like the belt. If these fail, then more investigations like MRI and surgical options are considered. I will suggest that you follow up with her doctor and ask for the possibility of getting her evaluated for a possible surgical correction.
I hope this helps and I wish her well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask more questions if need be. Dr. Ditah, MD
