History Of Diverticulitis, Colon Polyps Removed, Pain In Groin, After Bowel Movement. Problem Flaring? Symptoms Of Prostate?

I am 63 years old, history of diverticulitis and had 3 polyps removed from colon a few years back. Average one dose of antibiotics per year for this aliment . Right now, am having dull pain on left side groin area and towards the left side , all below belt area. Always feels lesser pain after bowel movement or passing gas, but it is always there , just at different levels of discomfort. Not sure if diverticulitis is flaring up or hernia . What are symptoms of prostate problems ? Thank you...

HI
Thank for choosing HCM
Now you stop taking antibiotic it has got no role in your case 'NOW' , taking it without any obvious reason, not at all advisable, antibiotic disturb the intestinal flora this may cause pain, like you described here. The main symptoms of Prostrate gland enlargement, is urgency of urine, dribbling of urine, you are 63 why not to get it examine, get done USG scanning for prostrate gland, even if you do not have any symptoms, it just a routine watch, Have nice Day.

Hello,
You had diverticulosis and 3 polyps removed. Now you have pain in the groin, on the left side, which gets relieved after a bowel movement or passing Gas. Groin pain can have local causes or be due to referred pain.
This pain does not look like arising from your diverticulitis.
Testicular pain can sometimes accompany pain just above the groin.
Prostate mainly produces urinary symptoms like urgency/delay.
Herniae will have a local swelling while standing position or coughing.
Mild constipation or flatulence may be the reason.
Anyhow USG may reveal the exact cause.
Best wishes
