Hello, My mom who is 58 years old was prescribed nexito 10mg 1 tab for 5 days, 1.5 tab for next 5 days and nexito 20mg for next 10 days. She has taken 1 tab of nexito 10 and one tab of nexito 30 for last 3 days. What are the possible effects. Should we consult the doctor immediately. She was put on this tab for first time three days back.
Hello, NEXITO ( ESCITALOPRAM ) is used for treatment of depression and is generally started with dose of 10 mgnand then increased gradually. Since you have started with a high dose of 40 mg,it can cause side effcts like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, fatigue, excitement, fast heart beats etc. You must immediately consult your doctor and if the patient is restless and agitated, then it would be better to go to ER immediately. Thanks
