Hit Hand/knuckle Didn't Pain Initially, Aggravated At Night. Used Ice. Is It A Fracture?
I hit my hand/nuckle on the floor. It didn t hurt right away. But throughout the day my middle finger knuckle swelled and reddened. I put ice and wrapped it up later that night. ( it happened in the morning) then it seemed to get worse the next day and it swelled like into my hand a bit too.. Do u think its broken. Can I play softball still?
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query,
It might be soft tissue injury or fracture.
Without X-ray, it is difficult to differentiate a fracture from others. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.
In the interim, apply ice packs to the affected area, anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid lifting weight and playing softball and rest well.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful
Regards.
