Horrible Sinus, Constantly Blocked Nostril, Advised Nightly Nasal Rinse. Any Solution ?
My sinus is horrible. I am constantly back up in one nostril or the other. I went to see a specialist and was told to do a nightly nasil rinse because my sinus are sensitive. I have been doing it for over a month now. My sinus will be clear on one side or the other, never both. I wake up sneezing for about 20 minutes daily. Can someone help?

hello and welcome to HCM,
You need to realize that there are three problems affecting you and all the three though affecting the nose have different modalities of treatment. Lets start with the allergies and sneezing:
1. Allergy causes the sneezing for which you have to take anti histamine medication to get initial control and later on taper the dose. Also do not get exposed to dust/ cool/ high perfume or odor/ direct blast of AC or Fan.
2. Nose being blocked up can be either due to a deviated septum or a polyp or a mass called turbinate all of which have to be evaluated by endoscopy and CT PNS and treated according to the extent of the block by an ENT
3. Blocked sinuses or infected sinuses have to be evaluated further by endoscopy and CT PNS so that a proper treatment may be started for permanent cure. A surgery called the functional endoscopic sinus surgery can give good results under a good ENT surgeon
continue steam inhalation and sinus lavage in the meantime
