Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 74 year old male I will take a stress test for heart. can you advise how met s are assigned. I did a test several years ago and met was 7, is this based on time on treadmill, blood pressure, or what is difference in a result of 4 mets verses 7 mets. do you tire quicker or have leg fatigue etc quicker at 4 verses 7 or how is that difference calculated, and same if the difference is between 7 and say 10 thanks
METs are categorized in 3 range score of which 10 is that chance of having heart issue are less likely. Hence, 4 indicates more likely the heart problem is a concern.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
