How Cam Severe Itching Be Treated?

Hi. My husband has had skin/itchiness problems for a few/several years now. He also can lean on something (counter top or anything) and end up with a whelp or hive where he made contact. Recently he just starts feeling itchy and burning for hours. He had an MRI with contrast (dye) between 2004 - 2005 and went into a seizure in the machine, and was passed out long enough for the paramedics to arrive and load him on the gurney before he came to. He worried from the first time the whelps appeared that it was a reaction to the dye. I don t know what to do for his itching, but he describes it as unbearable and unrelenting. What can he do for this? How can he get relief from the itching?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

As of now, you can take antihistamines like Pheniramine for itching.

If symptoms persist, better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
