Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A 52-year-old female patient was admitted for worsening of her asthma and chronic bronchitis. She recently quit smoking. She is taking medication for diabetes and high blood pressure. This morning her assessment revealed wheezes in her lungs and +2 pitting edema of her ankles; her skin is pale, and she has not eaten in 3 days. She is 20 lb overweight. What is the patients nursing care plan? What is the patients assessment?

How Can chronic Bronchitis And Asthma Be Treated?
Hello, She should rule out cardiac failure secondary to chronic bronchitis through EKG investigation. For further work up I suggest investigating with chest x-ray and spirometry as well. For asthma and bronchitis nebulization of bronchodilator drugs like levosalbutamol or ipratropium bromide and anti-inflammatory drug like budesonide respule need to be given. The pulmonologist will be best for proper evaluation and management as mentioned above. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
