How Can severe Painful Bartholin Cyst Be Treated?

I went to the ER today, and was diagnosed with a bartholin cyst. He gave me pain medication and a high dosage of Bacterium. The cyst is extremely hard and painful. What is the medicine supposed to do to help Also. The cyst has no head. But is extremely hard. What does that mean

Hello,The hardness inthe cyst is due to hardening of the oil present in the gland.The treatment is usually a hot compress and anti inflammoyory drugs.The cyst can be opened permanently by a procedure called marsupialization.If infected the cyst ruptures and healson its own after 3 to 4 days
