my mother has been suffering from COPD. Past two years she's been getting worse. She's on nebulization and oxygen therapy the year through but her dependance on antibiotics and steroids is increasing. Is there any long term treatment that can make the episodes lesser
COPD is generally a progressive disease. She has to take her medicines regularly esp the inhalers. She should also be given chest physiotherapy which helps in removing secretions from the lung and in breathing. If she continues to be symptomatic she can be put on NIV like BiPAP
